A new 2021–2022 EIB Climate Survey found that 62 percent of Dutch people believe their country will fail to drastically reduce its carbon emissions by 2050.
The European Investment Bank (EIB) published the survey, which was conducted in partnership with market research firm BVA, on Oct. 27. More than 30,000 respondents participated in the survey between Aug. 26 and Sept. 22, with a representative panel for each of the 30 countries polled.
According to the survey, 77 percent of Dutch people think that climate change and its consequences are the biggest challenge for humanity in the 21st century, and 59 percent believe they are more concerned about the climate emergency than their government. As a result, they are fairly pessimistic regarding their country’s capability to undergo an ambitious green transition.
