District of Columbia Retirement Board earmarks $150m for BlackRock infrastructure fund

The District of Columbia Retirement Board (DCRB) has approved a commitment of up to $150 million to BlackRock Global Infrastructure Fund IV,  pending legal review and final due diligence.

BlackRock Global Infrastructure Fund IV is a 2022 vintage infrastructure opportunistic fund managed by BlackRock. According to PitchBook, the fund targets investments in the energy and infrastructure sectors and makes 15 to 20 investments ranging in equity from $200 million to $500 million.

Fund IV has a global focus and targets impact investment in the climate vertical.

This marks DCRB’s first commitment to Blackrock’s Global Infrastructure strategy.
