Digital Realty and Equinix seek permission to build data centers in Ireland

Digital Realty and Equinix have filed for permission to build two data centers in Clondalkin, Ireland, according to Data Center Dynamics.

The facilities, known as DUB15 and DUB16, will total 33,577 square meters (361,400 square feet) and will be located next to the company’s existing facilities on Profile Park’s Nangor Road in Clondalkin. A decision from SDCC is due at the end of September.

In addition, Equinix filed for permission to construct a three-story data center in Profile Park, set on a 2.65-hectare (6.5-acre) plot of land.

Known as DB8, the facility would have a total gross floor area of around 9,600 square meters (103,000 square feet). A decision from SDCC is due on Aug. 29.
