Digital Edge has partnered with Hulic, a Japanese real estate developer, to deliver a carrier-neutral data center, TYO7, in downtown Tokyo.
TYO7 will be situated near the company’s existing TYO2 site, one of the most network dense data centers in Tokyo. The new facility, located at 7-1 Nihonbashi Kobunacho, will sit in a dark fiber-rich area near the financial district. It will also serve as a natural extension for existing TYO2 customers.
Digital Edge, formed by Stonepeak in 2020, and Hulic have formed a joint venture dubbed DEH1 Co. for the development, which is being called the Kobunacho Project.
TYO7 is expected to be ready for service in early 2025.
