Digital Edge to add two data centers in Tokyo

by Kali Persall

Singapore’s Digital Edge has agreed to acquire two data centers in Tokyo from Japanese telco Arteria Networks Corp., according to Data Center Dynamics.

The company will add the 39,100-square-foot ComSpace I and 100,500-square-foot ComSpace II facilities to its portfolio, which are located in downtown Nihonbashi and Shinjuku, respectively.

In August 2020, Stonepeak Infrastructure Partners and a group of seasoned senior executives formerly with Equinix, Facebook, Tata Communications and Macquarie formed Digital Edge, a diversified, independent data center platform with a focus on acquiring and developing carrier-neutral data centers and related digital infrastructure assets across the Asia Pacific region.

At that time, Digital Edge closed two initial investments in data centers in Japan, one of the platform’s key markets.
