Digital 9 Infrastructure pays $319m for Verne Global

Digital 9 Infrastructure (D9), a U.K. investment trust that invests in digital infrastructure assets, has acquired Verne Global, provider of sustainable data center solutions for high intensity computing, for £231 million ($319 million) in cash.

D9 is focused on providing resilient digital infrastructures integrated with green and cleaner power, in line with U.N. Sustainable Development Goal 9. The acquisition of Verne Global, which operates a 100 percent renewable-powered data center campus in Iceland, reaffirms this strategy.

Verne Global’s 40-acre data center campus has been designed to provide highly specialized data center services for organizations running high-intensity computing workloads, including artificial intelligence, machine learning, high-performance computing and supercomputing.
