Digital 9 Infrastructure has paid €135 million ($145 million) for Finnish colocation provider Ficolo as part of an ongoing effort to decarbonize the data-center industry, according to Data Center Dynamics.
D9 acquired Ficolo from Finnish real estate-investment firm Pontos Group and private-equity company Taaleri. Jack Waters, chair of Digital 9 Infrastructure, said Ficolo adds to the firm’s portfolio of Nordic data centers and represents some of the cleanest, lowest carbon-footprint data centers globally. The deal is expected to close before the end of the year.
