by Kali Persall

Declan O’Brien has taken up a new position as senior portfolio manager – infrastructure, Unified Global Alternatives (UGA), at UBS.

O’Brien, based in London, has been at UBS for more than seven years, according to his LinkedIn page. He previously served as the executive director in the energy and transport transition team at the firm and was the head of infrastructure research and strategy before that.

In his new role, O’Brien will be responsible for investing across primaries, secondaries and co-investments for UGA, a unit established in 2024 that combines alternatives manager selection franchises from asset management and global wealth management, with a combined $295 billion in invested assets.
