Dalmore Capital, a private asset management company that invests in long-term infrastructure assets, has acquired a portfolio of seven fully operational Scottish run-of-river hydro assets 5.95 megawatts in capacity from EDGE Hydro Investments. Financial terms were not disclosed.
The investment has been made through a managed account on behalf of a significant U.K. pension fund. It follows a similar rationale to Dalmore’s acquisition of nine run-of-river hydro assets representing 6.6 megawatts of capacity in January from Triple Point Energy Transition. All assets across the two portfolios are unlevered and located in the Scottish Highlands.
This marks Dalmore’s first investment since it announced it was being acquired by Royal London Asset Management in May — a move that is expected to reach completion before the end of 2025.
