CVC DIF to acquire German data center operator firstcolo from Cube Infrastructure Managers

by Kali Arevalo

CVC DIF, the infrastructure business of global private markets manager CVC, has plans to acquire a significant majority stake in firstcolo, a Frankfurt-based colocation data center operator, from Cube Infrastructure Managers.

firstcolo was founded in 2007 and provides colocation, dedicated cloud hardware, cloud, connectivity and managed services to more than 350 enterprise customers across two operational colocation data centers in Frankfurt.

A central element of firstcolo’s next phase of growth is FRA7, a new data center under construction in Rosbach in the Frankfurt metropolitan region. FRA7, which will provide 24 megawatts of total gross capacity, is being designed as an artificial intelligence (AI)-ready facility with the power, cooling, connectivity and operational processes required for demanding high-density workloads.

The site, power supply, required permits and fixed-price turnkey construction arrangements are already in place, according to CVC DIF. F
