Canada Pension Plan Investment Board has appointed a new head of its C$25 billion ($19.92 billion) infrastructure portfolio, according to media reports. An official statement has not been released.
Scott Lawrence will be replacing Cressida Hogg. Lawrence joined the pension fund in 2005. Most recently, Lawrence was CPPIB’s managing director and head of fundamental equities.
Recently, CPPIB invested an additional $247 million in ReNew Power Ventures Pvt. Ltd. Including the initial $144 million investment in January 2018, CPPIB’s total investment in ReNew Power is now $391 million.
CPPIB’s additional investment will support ReNew Power’s acquisition of Ostro Energy Private Limited (Ostro Energy), an Indian renewable energy developer with total capacity of more than 1.1 gigawatts.
