Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners and ALTÉRRA join forces to invest in clean energy

Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) has debuted a new partnership with ALTÉRRA, one of the world’s largest private investment vehicles for climate finance.

“This partnership will enable CIP and ALTÉRRA to work toward a common goal of providing clean, affordable and secure energy to rapidly growing economies across Asia, Latin America and Africa, where demand is accelerating,” said Torsten Lodberg Smed, senior partner at CIP.

ALTÉRRA is committing to CIP’s Growth Markets Fund II (GMF II), which, with a target size of $3 billion, is on track to be one of the world’s largest greenfield-focused renewable-energy funds.

Launched in 2023, GMF II focuses on investments in large-scale and complex greenfield energy infrastructure projects in high-growth, middle-income markets with strong fundamentals for energy development and significant impact potential, backing projects in markets where energy demand is rising rapidly.
