Consumers Energy takes ownership of Crescent Wind farm in Michigan

Consumers Energy, Michigan’s largest energy provider, has assumed ownership of the newly operational 166-megawatt Crescent Wind farm in Hillsdale County, Mich.

Crescent Wind, which was developed by Invenergy, features 60 turbines and has the capacity to power about 64,000 residences. The wind project represents a $246 million investment in Michigan's clean energy infrastructure

Consumers Energy said Crescent Wind will help fulfill the company’s clean energy plan, which calls for eliminating coal as an energy source, achieving net-zero carbon emissions and meeting 90 percent of customers' energy needs through clean sources such as renewable energy, energy waste reduction and energy storage.
