Colombia’s National Infrastructure Agency (ANI) has awarded a $1.1 billion highway concession contract to the Plural Autopistas Caribbean consortium, according to InfraPPP.
The Autopistas del Caribe 2 highway project includes the intervention of a 250-kilometer-long (155-mile-long) La Cordialidad road, the construction of 78 kilometers (48 miles) of new lanes, 16 kilometers (9.9 miles) invariants and eight intersections.
The consortium, which consists of KMA Construcciones, Obresca and Ortiz Construcciones, will be responsible for the design, construction, operation, maintenance as well as social, property and environmental management of Autopistas del Caribe Road and Freight Corridor Cartagena-Barranquilla.
ANI is expecting to sign the concession contract at the beginning of September.
