Connecticut treasurer Erick Russell is mulling an investment in Global Infrastructure Partners V, a value-add vehicle managed by Global Infrastructure Partners, on behalf of the state’s retirement funds.
According to a report from the Connecticut Investment Advisory Council, the prospective investment — for which an exact amount was not disclosed — would come from the state’s real estate, infrastructure and natural resources portfolio.
Connecticut recently announced $1 billion of new investment commitments for the state’s pension funds.
“Maximizing the returns in our pension funds is of vital importance for the long-term financial health of the state and the retirement security of state and municipal retirees,” said Russell. “The IAC plays a critical role in aligning our investment goals with our commitment to building a solid fiscal foundation for Connecticut’s future.”
