Commerz Real has secured a new wind farm in the Irish Midlands for its Klimavest fund, representing the vehicle’s foray into the Irish renewables market.
Klimavest is a European Long-Term Investment Fund (ELTIF) that gives private retail investors access to sustainable infrastructure and renewable-energy assets. The fund now has a total of €1.4 billion ($1.5 billion) in assets under management and is expected to reach a volume of €10 billion ($10.5 billion).
Moanvane wind farm, located in County Offaly, has been in operation since the end of September and consists of 12 Nordex turbines with an installed capacity of 57.6 megawatts.
The wind farm was developed and sold by Statkraft, Europe’s largest generator of renewable energy, which will remain involved and will continue to provide operational management services for the project.
