Columbia Threadneedle ESIF and MIRA close Condor Ferries deal

by Kali Persall

Columbia Threadneedle European Sustainable Infrastructure Fund (ESIF) and French ferry operator Brittany Ferries have closed the previously announced acquisition of Condor Ferries, a European freight and passenger ferry service company.

The seller was Macquarie European Infrastructure Fund II, managed by Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets. According to BBC, the ferry firm was first put on the market in 2018. A sales price was not disclosed.

First announced in November 2019, the acquisition marks the first investment by ESIF, an open-ended fund that invests in European mid-market equity assets.
