Colombia’s National Infrastructure Agency (ANI) is planning to launch a $1.14 billion highway project next year, according to InfraPPP.
The 268-kilometer (166.5 mile) 5G Pasto-Popayán highway will connect Pasto in Narino departments and Popayán in Cauca department and will be a part of Fifth Generation or 5G road concessions in Colombia. The highway is estimated to save freight vehicles commute time, as well as logistical costs.
The project, which is currently in the structuring process, is scheduled to be launched in the second wave of 5G projects.
“We want to build a future with greater equality through these projects,” said Manuel Felipe Gutiérrez, president of ANI. “We are connecting lives with equity and working to bring Colombians closer.”
