Clean energy is still expanding in the United States, despite challenges

Despite current geopolitical challenges, 90 percent of new energy capacity came from clean sources, according to the World Resources Institute.

Federal policy regarding clean energy has seen a tumultuous past few years, with increased market turmoil and uncertainty. Despite these headwinds, the deployment of clean energy remained strong, states the report.

Fossil fuels are also growing, however, as coal use and planned gas plants have seen recent increases.
