President Joe Biden has pledged to invest $2 trillion to combat climate change. As part of this plan, which targets net-zero carbon production by 2050, Biden has proposed a $1 billion competitive grant program “to help five cities pilot new planning strategies and smart city technologies that can serve as models for the country,” reported Cityzenith, a company that builds software solutions for buildings, infrastructure, and smart cities.

Biden will also upgrade 4,000,000 buildings over four years to make them more energy efficient, reduce heat loss, electricity consumption and excessive waste.
