Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) has entered into a framework agreement with Viviid Renewables, an Indian developer and BOP contractor, to develop more than 1.8 gigawatts of renewable-energy projects in India.
The partnership will initially focus on the development of two onshore wind projects, with a combined capacity of more than 500 megawatts. CIP has entered the agreement through its Copenhagen Infrastructure New Markets Fund I (CI NMF I), which will primarily invest in greenfield renewable energy infrastructure projects in the fast-growing economies across Asia and Latin America as well as certain countries in Eastern Europe.
The partnership is expecting additional projects to be developed and constructed through successor CI NMF funds.
Viviid will contribute projects from its extensive development pipeline to the partnership and will deliver key development activities up to final investment decision as well as provide design, engineering, procureme
