CBRE Caledon Capital Management Inc., the private infrastructure investment arm of CBRE Global Investors, has agreed to acquire fiber developer WANRack on behalf of a fund sponsored by the firm, as well as one of its separately managed accounts.
WANRack provides broadband connectivity services primarily to K–12 school districts across the United States. With more than 600 miles of newly constructed, 100 percent–owned fiber network infrastructure, WANRack currently serves more than 450 schools with tailored fiber lease solutions. CBRE said the company’s dedicated private fiber networks currently enhance the education experience of more than 300,000 students.
“Fiber optic networks play a foundational, future-proofed role in the schools of today and in the future,” Noi Spyratos, partner at CBRE Caledon, told IREI in an email. “As technology-enabled learning tools advance, schools will be able to simply upgrade their equipment on the legacy fiber plant installe
