The California State Teachers’ Retirement System (CalSTRS) has formed a board-staff group on technology governance, according to meeting materials from Nov. 13.
The group was formed to establish a system to oversee technology at CalSTRS, with a focus on artificial intelligence. In addition, the group is designed to highlight strategies to improve technology literacy and provide enhanced resources for doing so. To ensure a comprehensive approach, the group plans to meet with other public pension funds, partners and academic experts to discover alternative approaches to technology governance.
Among members of the group are CEO Cassandra Lichnock, CTO Ashish Jain and chief information security officer Dylan Pletcher.
