The California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS), a $605 billion public pension fund, has committed $1.5 billion to infrastructure investments.

GI Partners received $1.5 billion across two data-infrastructure vehicles. Specific fund details were not disclosed.

CalPERS committed $500 million to infrastructure in late 2025, with $500 million to Infra Bear Partners, a vehicle of GenPar Advisors.

As of Sept. 30, 2023, the fund had a 3.4 percent infrastructure allocation and $15.3 billion in total infrastructure assets.
