Brookfield Asset Management has raised $30 billion for its flagship global infrastructure equity fund, Brookfield Infrastructure Fund V (BIF V), marking the world’s largest closed-end private infrastructure fund and the largest fund ever raised by Brookfield. The final close included $28 billion for the fund and approximately $2 billion in related co-investment vehicles.
Brookfield said a diverse group of 200 limited partners committed to the fund. The majority of the capital was raised from existing investors, including public and private pension plans, sovereign wealth funds, financial institutions, endowments, foundations and family offices.
The fundraising exceeded Brookfield’s target of $25 billion, and BIF V is 40 percent larger than its predecessor vehicle, BIF IV, which closed in 2020 with $20 billion of commitments.
