BNP Paribas Asset Management Alts (BNPP AM Alts), the largest alternatives asset manager in Europe, has raised approximately €1.2 billion ($1.4 billion) in capital commitments at the final close of its second European junior infrastructure debt strategy.
The strategy, which exceeded its original fundraising target, was backed by a mixture of European and Asian investors, including re-upers and new investors. BNPP AM Alts said the final closing demonstrates strong underlying demand from institutional investors for specialized infrastructure debt strategies aiming to offer a strong cash yield, attractive illiquidity premiums (compared with corporate bonds), and exposure to Europe’s energy transition and digital infrastructure boom.
