BNP Paribas Asset Management (BNPP AM) has raised €150 million ($166 million) for its BNP Paribas Solar Impulse Venture Fund (BNPP SIVF), reaching its minimum target size.
BNPP SIVF is the result of an exclusive partnership between Bertrand Piccard’s Solar Impulse Foundation and BNPP AM. The capital will enable BNPP SIVF, managed by the BNPP AM’s private assets division, to make 15–20 investments into European and North American high-potential growth startups.
The investor base included a mix of institutional, corporate and family office investors willing to act alongside BNP Paribas and the Solar Impulse Foundation to accelerate the Ecological Transition. With a hard cap at €200 million ($222 million), the fund aims at federating additional limited partners who share the same ambition as BNP Paribas and the Solar Impulse Foundation.
