Affiliates of Blackstone Infrastructure Partners, Blackstone Real Estate Income Trust and Blackstone Property Partners have closed the acquisition of data center provider QTS Realty Trust for $10 billion, including debt.
Blackstone and QTS signed definitive agreements for the deal in June.
Based in Kansas, QTS is a provider of carrier-neutral data centers and provides colocation services within North America and Northern Amsterdam. The company’s largest operating areas are Northern Virginia, Dallas/Fort Worth, Chicago, New Jersey and Hillsboro, Ore.
Greg Blank and Tyler Henritze, senior managing directors at Blackstone, said QTS aligns with one of Blackstone’s highest conviction themes — data proliferation — and the required investment makes it well-suited as a long-term holding for Blackstone’s perpetual capital vehicles.
