BlackRock’s climate infrastructure business has increased its stake in Brite Energy Partners (BEP), a South Korean independent power producer that owns and operates one of the largest solar portfolios in Korea.
BlackRock is investing 100 billion South Korean won ($72 million) to help scale BEP’s solar portfolio to more than 1 gigawatt in the coming years and expand its battery-energy storage and EV-charging operations, according to pv magazine. This represents BlackRock’s fourth investment in Brite Energy Partners since August 2021.
The company operates more than 300 solar power plants in South Korea.
