Big Data Exchange expands into Singapore with 7.3MW data center

Big Data Exchange (BDx) has acquired a new 7.3-megawatt data center in Singapore, marking the company’s expansion into the country.

Formerly owned by Australian telecommunications company Telstra, the data center known as SIN1 houses 1,800 racks, according to Data Economy. The colocation center has an UpTime Tier 3+ Design Certificate, and is also SS564 GreenMark Gold Plus, TVRA, ISO27001 and PCI-DSS certified.

“Expanding into Singapore was our first choice outside of the greater China area and a strategic one on account of its proximity to other countries in Asia,” said Braham Singh, CEO of BDx. “Its location and connectivity advantages help BDx form a network hub designed to meet the rising internet and cloud exchange needs of our customers.”
