I Squared Capital has appointed Ben Harper as head of sustainability. He will be based in the firm’s Miami office.
Harper’s prior roles include managing director, head of ESG at Stonepeak and head of corporate sustainability at Zurich North America Insurance.
At Zurich, Harper led the development of the firm’s sustainability strategy, corporate social responsibility initiatives and climate targets. He also contributed to the advancement of risk-transfer products supporting the carbon transition, including solutions for renewable energy and alternative funding structures for clean development mechanism projects.
Harper also has contributed to public policy and industry best practices through his involvement with the White House Interagency CCS Task Force, the European Union’s Zero Emission Platform and several advisory boards, including the American Society of Civil Engineers Infrastructure Resilience Division and the U.N. Principles for Responsible Inves
