Barings has closed two transactions involving the sale of telecommunications infrastructure and ground assets that were owned by Everest Infrastructure Partners.
In 2015, Barings partnered with EIP to strategically aggregate a portfolio of assets spanning 42 states on behalf of EIP Holdings I, a Barings-managed entity. Financial terms were not disclosed.
“We have invested in this space for over ten years, enjoyed the successful relationship with the Everest team and are excited about the continued growth in telecommunications investments,” said Matthew Sandoval, managing director of Barings private equity/real assets.
EIP focuses on investments in the energy infrastructure sector, such as pipelines, storage facilities and terminals, and also invests in regulated electric utility and renewable power generation.
As of March 31, EIP had $3.7 billion in investments under management, making it one of the largest managers in the energy infrastructure space.
