Barchester Healthcare has sold to Welltower for £5.2 billion ($6.8 billion).
Barchester Healthcare is the largest care home operator in the United Kingdom, with more than 14,440 beds and more than 240 care homes.
Knight Frank advised Barchester Healthcare on the sale.
