by Kali Arevalo

A fund managed by Axium Infrastructure has agreed to acquire a 95 percent interest in an on-campus student housing project currently under construction at the University of Kansas.

The project, located in Lawrence, Kan., will consist of a purpose-built undergraduate student housing community across two residential buildings comprising 199 units and 482 beds in the KU Gateway District. Construction of the project started in June 2026, and the buildings are expected to be open to students for the 2028–2029 academic year.

Axium Infrastructure said the project will operate under a 99-year air rights lease with the University of Kansas and its affiliates for development and operation of purpose-built student housing.

Asset Living has been retained as the property manager and will lead leasing efforts, as well as oversee staffing, facility maintenance, billing and collections.

“We are delighted to partner with the University of Kansas and Edgemoor/Sunflower
