Aviva Investors invests €40m into European renewables developer Connected Infrastructure Capital

by Kali Persall

Aviva Investors, the global asset management business of Aviva plc, has completed a €40 million ($42 million) investment into Connected Infrastructure Capital (CIC), acquiring a majority shareholding in the company.

CIC is a German renewable-energy developer that specializes in the development and management of onshore wind and solar projects across Northern and Central Europe. CIC’s current development activities comprise early- to late-stage wind and hybrid (wind and PV) projects, with an emphasis on Poland and Sweden. The company has a secured portfolio of approximately 1-gigawatt of projects in development.

CIC also has successfully developed and sold 100 megawatts of onshore wind projects in Central Europe that the company still manages and owns an operating onshore wind farm in Sweden.

Aviva Investors’ investment is expected to provide CIC with the necessary funding to support existing development activities and expand its project pipeline.
