Australia’s ‘largest’ wind farm wins planning approval

by Andrea Zander

The state government of Victoria, Australia, has reportedly granted planning approval to WestWind Energy’s 800-megawatt Golden Plains Wind Farm Project that could likely be Australia’s largest wind firm.

The A$1.5 billion ($1.1 billion) project would generate nearly 3,000 gigawatt hours of electricity per year.

Other ongoing projects in Victoria include Moorabool, Lal Lal, Murra Warra, Stockyard Hill and Bulgana wind farms.
