Augment Infrastructure targets $750m for growth markets fund

Augment Infrastructure, a fund manager focused on growth strategies in renewable energy and sustainable infrastructure, has plans to launch a emerging markets fund with a $750 million target, IREI has learned.

IREI understands the new fund will focus on renewables and digital infrastructure opportunities in the middle market. It will invest in growth markets in a handful of countries in Southeast Asia and Latin America.

The firm declined to comment on its fundraising activities.

Augment Infrastructure was established by Darius Lilaoonwala and Viktor Kats, a team that spun out from the International Finance Corp. in 2019, after more than 20 years of managing global infrastructure strategies for IFC and the IFC Asset Management Co.

The fund manager is focused on sustainable growth infrastructure strategies, primarily in emerging markets, across sectors such as power, water and sanitation, telecom infrastructure, and transport. Augment Infrastructure seeks g
