AtlasEdge to build second Barcelona data center

AtlasEdge, a Pan-European data center provider, has announced the acquisition of land for the development of its second data center in Barcelona.

With initial power already secured, the new facility will deliver 10 megawatts by 2027, with the potential to increase to 24 megawatts. The 18,000-square-meter plot is 6 kilometers from the company’s existing Barcelona data center and is close to the Barcelona Cable Landing Station.

Barcelona is quickly becoming a key growth market in the digital space, driven by high customer demand and new subsea cable advances that have made the city a key connection point for data between Europe, North Africa and the Middle East.

AtlasEdge continues to strengthen its executive team and data center portfolio. In the past three months, the company announced the appointment of Tesh Durvasula as CEO and Robbie Mcghie as chief delivery officer, as well as its entry into the Portuguese market with the acquisition of two adjacent sites
