Alan Belfield will take over as chairman of Arup Group.
He will oversee a global business with turnover in excess of £1.6 billion ($2.1 billion) across advisory, planning, engineering, design and management services in the cities, energy, transport and water markets.
He currently serves as COO for the firm. He previously led Arup’s operations across the United Kingdom, Middle East and Africa.
Belfield succeeds Gregory Hodkinson who completes his five-year term on March 31, 2019, the maximum tenure for chairman of Arup. He will be joined by deputy chairman, Tristram Carfrae who has been reappointed in that role for a further three-year term.
