A A$3 billion ($2.4 billion) deal between Ares Management Corp. and AMP Capital could be announced as early as next week, sources with knowledge of the matter told Bloomberg.
The deal comes weeks after Ares shelved its $6 billion takeover offer for AMP Capital, after expressing interest to acquire the company in October. Shares of AMP Capital reportedly fell 10 percent after Ares rescinded its bid.
The new deal involves a targeted unit that manages some A$189 billion ($150 billion) in assets across real estate, infrastructure and equities.
Bloomberg notes there is a possibility the deal may not move forward.
