Ardian and partners pay $1.4b for majority stake in GreenYellow

Ardian has partnered with Groupe Casino, Bpifrance and Tikehau Capital to acquire a majority stake in GreenYellow, a major player in the energy transition in France and abroad, and an expert in decentralized solar photovoltaic production, energy efficiency projects and energy services. The transaction values the company at €1.4 billion ($1.42 billion).

GreenYellow provides access to low-cost green energy and helps companies optimize their energy consumption. The company operates in more than 15 countries on four continents.

In 2018, Tikehau Capital and Bpifrance invested €150 million ($152 million) in GreenYellow to support its development. They will now reinvest part of their proceeds in the company. As part of the transaction, the Casino Group, incubator and reference shareholder of GreenYellow since 2007, will retain a minority stake and will remain a business partner for the company.
