The New York City Employees’ Retirement System committed $162 million to Ardian Infrastructure Fund (AIF) VI in June 2023, according to recent meeting documents.
Managed by Ardian, AIF VI is seeking to raise €10 billion ($10.94 billion) and will invest in brownfield transport, environment, renewables and energy assets, with a primary focus in OECD Europe.
AIF VI's predecessor fund, Ardian Infrastructure Fund V, held a final close in March 2019, after raising €6.1 billion ($6.67 billion) of capital.
As of Sept. 30, 2023, NYCERS's infrastructure investments made up approximately 2.7 percent ($2.1 billion) of its $78.7 billion portfolio.
