Arcus-backed Portus Data Centers to expand data center capacity in Munich

by Kali Persall

Portus Data Centers, a data center operator offering carrier-neutral edge colocation services in Germany and surrounding countries, is moving forward with the construction of a campus in the Munich region.

The company confirmed it has received all necessary permits and officially started work on the MUC2 data center campus extension. MUC2 will deliver 5.5 megawatts of critical IT load and 2,200 square meters (23,680 square feet) of white space across two floors. The campus is strategically located for ultra-low latency in southern Germany. It is being built with an energy-efficient design and will be ready for service in first quarter 2027.

Arcus Infrastructure Partners, an independent fund manager investing in European infrastructure, launched Portus Data Centers in 2023 to meet the rapidly increasing demand for edge colocation data processing.
