Arcus acquires majority stake in aircraft lessor TrueNoord

Arcus Infrastructure Partners has become a new long-term shareholder in specialist regional aircraft lessor TrueNoord through the acquisition of a 74 percent stake in the business.

Founding investor Freshstream is reinvesting to retain the remaining stake.

TrueNoord invests in turboprops and regional jet aircraft primarily due to their strong value retention characteristics, specializing in ATR, Embraer, De Havilland and MHIRJ variants, in addition to the Airbus A220, according to the company’s website.

“Regional aircraft play a critical role worldwide, both economically and socially,” said Edward Lilley, senior investment director at Arcus and asset manager of TrueNoord. “Given the robust performance of the global aviation industry and the long-term, contracted nature of the business, aircraft leasing is widely recognized as a high-quality, core infrastructure asset class.”
