ArcLight Capital Partners has announced a $5.6 billion final close for ArcLight Energy Partners Fund VI, exceeding the fund’s $4 billion equity fundraising target and initial $5 billion hard cap.
ArcLight’s previous fund closed in 2011 with $3.3 billion of commitments. ArcLight has now raised more than $15 billion globally since the firm was founded in 2001.
According to IREI’s FundTracker database, 12 energy mega-funds have held final closes this year, garnering $33.77 billion in equity commitments. ArcLight Energy Partners Fund VI is the second-largest energy fund this year, following EnCap Energy Capital Fund X, which closed in April with $6.5 billion in equity commitments.
