ArcLight Capital Partners’ portfolio company Zeem Solutions has secured funding from the Northwest Seaport Alliance (NWSA) to facilitate the construction of a new EV charging depot for electric trucks.
The depot will be built near Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and serve the ports of Seattle and Tacoma. Its operations will support Washington state’s electrification, climate, jobs and public health goals.
Six local fleet operators will purchase 19 new electric trucks at a price competitive with traditional diesel trucks, thanks to the $5.12 million grant from the NWSA. The grant will offset the high purchase cost of electric Class 8 drayage trucks, enabling local truck fleet operators to provide zero-emission freight deliveries as they haul containers from the ports to inland warehouses.
Truck fleets will be charged and domiciled at Zeem’s SeaTac Depot, located near warehouse and distribution centers that see a large volume of truck deliveries. In add
