Aquila Capital has announced the latest development of its Strübbel Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in Northern Germany.
Aquila confirmed the BESS containers are being offloaded and placed at their final location, bringing the project closer to installation as well as its planned commissioning this summer. The Elementa battery containers are a crucial part of this 50-megawatt and 100-megawatt-hour project. Equipped with lithium-ion phosphate battery cells, they ensure reliable energy storage and offer high system stability.
This project is part of a 7-gigawatt battery storage portfolio of Aquila Clean Energy EMEA, the firm’s clean-energy platform, located across nine European countries.
