Pohjoistuuli and partners have sold the Tyrinselkä operating wind farm portfolio in Finland to Aquila Capital, according to Newsec Infra, the adviser of the sale.
The portfolio partly benefits from the Finnish Feed-in-Premium system and also has a portion of its output sold under a 10-year power-purchase agreement (PPA) with a local municipality utility.
Pohjoistuuli has experienced the whole project lifecycle starting from permitting, setting up the construction process, securing PPA, and financing and operating the wind farms before it decided to sell them after being approached by Aquila. It also continues to operate the wind farms for the new owner. Megatuuli Oy assisted at the beginning of the cycle with securing land plots and permitting.
