Leon Black, CEO of Apollo Global Management Inc., is planning to retire from his role on or before July 31, Reuters reports.
Black currently serves as the chairman of the board and CEO of Apollo Global Management, Inc., according to Apollo’s website. He is also a managing partner of Apollo Management, which he founded in 1990 to manage investment capital on behalf of a group of institutional investors, focusing on corporate restructuring, leveraged buyouts, and taking minority positions in growth-oriented companies.
Prior to 1990, Black served as managing director, head of the M&A group and co-head of the corporate finance department at Drexel Burnham Lambert Inc.
Black serves on the boards of directors of Apollo Global Management, Inc., The New York City Partnership and the general partner of AP Alternative Assets.
