Ameresco Sunel Energy SA contracted to deliver 560MW solar project in Greece for Lightsource bp

Ameresco Sunel Energy SA, a joint venture between Ameresco, a cleantech integrator specializing in energy efficiency and renewable energy, and Sunel Group, an international solar PV EPC contractor, has been tasked with building Lightsource bp’s 560 megawatts peak Enipeas solar project in Greece.

The joint venture announced it has secured a contract to construct the flagship Enipeas project, one of the largest solar sites in Europe, for Lightsource bp. Ameresco Sunel Energy SA will serve as the EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) and O&M (operations and maintenance) provider for the project and is dedicated to ensuring its success through sustainable practices.

Located in the regions of Larissa and Fthiotida, the Enipeas project is expected to reach completion in 18 to 24 months. The project consists of two clusters: Skopia, a 400 megawatts peak southern cluster; and Kalithea, a 160 megawatts peak northern cluster, where nearly 970,000 photovoltaic mod
